As a Publisher, you receive two statements from SoundStack Marketplace each month:

  1. Publisher Earnings Statement  - This monthly (blue) statement details the earned advertising revenue for a publisher for a specific month, sent on the last business day of each month.
  2. Publisher Remittance Statement - This monthly (burgundy-dark red) statement breakdowns the actual payment made towards each Publishers Earnings Month., i.e. below, the payment amount of $500.00 was paid towards January 2024 Earnings Month, along with payments towards February 2024 and March 2024. Adjustments, if any, are listed on this statement as well. The total payment amount is remitted on the first business day of each month.

Publishers receive payments (remittances) once both of the following conditions are met:

  1. Publisher’s Payment Term. Refers to the number of days after the last day of the month in which ads were delivered, at which point you are eligible to begin receiving payments for such ads. Payment Terms are set forth in your agreement(s) with SoundStack.
  2. Buyer Payments to SoundStack. SoundStack works with a variety of buyers to provide advertisements and fill inventory for SoundStack Marketplace customers. We hold these buyers to the highest standards and vet them thoroughly before including them in our marketplace. However, in rare cases and for reasons beyond our control, some buyers may fail to pay SoundStack on time. To continue to align with standard industry practices and set clear expectations for publishers, SoundStack pays publishers once SoundStack receives payments from Marketplace buyers.

Note: Both conditions need to be met in order for payments to be received. Once payment terms are met, we will pay out amounts received from our buyers collected that month.

We have created a Revenue-Remittance Tracker spreadsheet that will help keep track of revenue balances owed, and remittances received. We highly recommend using this tool, as it will give you a better understanding of the payment process. You can download the Revenue-Remittance Tracker here.

Note: The dates can be revised, and added as you go, and remember to keep the formula in Column C.

FAQs

Why am I receiving a Publisher Remittance statement?

  • You are receiving a remittance statement because you participate in SoundStack Marketplace.

What is a remittance statement?

  • A Publisher Remittance Statement summarizes the amount of revenue received from SoundStack buyers who purchased your publisher inventory through SoundStack Marketplace; it takes into account the payment service terms with SoundStack. The remittance statement total will correspond with your payment amount for that remittance month. The breakdown amount per earnings month is listed on this statement.

Will SoundStack send a breakout Per Show Remittance Report?

  • Unfortunately, our system is unable to produce an accurate breakout per show on the remittance. The Publisher is able to calculate the remittance per show payout amount by applying a percentage next to each show on the Publishers Earnings Extended Regional Final Report, then applying the same percentage to get the calculation per show payout amounts. Our team did manage to create a special tracker sheet called Revenue-Remittance for Podcasts; that will help you do this. The instructions are in the first tab on the sheet below. The sheet is yours to customize; change the dates as they pertain.

When am I going to be paid for my earned Marketplace revenue?

  • Based on your payment terms with SoundStack you will receive a payment thereafter for the revenue SoundStack has received from buyers who purchased your inventory.

Why don’t my Publisher Earnings Statement Summary and Publisher Remittance Statement show the same amount owed to me?

  • The Publisher Earnings Statement Summary is the total publisher revenue earned in the SoundStack Marketplace based on a given month. This statement does not reflect the actual collection of revenue by SoundStack from buyers. The Publisher Remittance Statement shows the revenue that has been collected by SoundStack from buyers and therefore paid to the publisher.

Why do I see an “adjustment” on my remittance statement?

  • In exceptionally rare cases, SoundStack may determine a buyer will be unable to pay a portion of the amounts they owe and this amount will show as a negative adjustment on the remittance statement. SoundStack will continue to attempt collection of these amounts through the legal processes available, and positive adjustments may be made in subsequent remittance statements for amounts recovered.
