Data gathering and processing is a fundamental part of analytics computation. This can take time as part of extract, transform, load (ETL) processing across our global content delivery network. Below is an overview of expected data processing delays and limitations for SoundStack Insights.
Audience Analytics
Real-time Streaming
Real-time streaming data is updated every minute.
Note: If your streams are not on SoundStack's CDN, real-time data is only available when using SoundStack's arm-agent. Please see the "Ingestion from a third-party source" section at the end of this article.
Historical Streaming
Historical streaming data is updated hourly. However, there is a delay in processing based on the session limit durations configured. A maximum session limit duration of 7 days is supported, though individual streams and stations can configure less. The recommended session limit is 24 hours.
For best results, wait at least 8 days after the desired reporting period to ensure all sessions are closed and counted.
Podcast
Podcast data is generally updated hourly. Data for newly-published episodes can take up to 24 hours to process. Data for the Lifetime period is updated daily.
Performance Reporting
Performance reporting data is considered fully processed 14 days after the calendar-month end regardless of session limit duration.
Ingestion from a third-party source
For customers not on SoundStack's CDN, there are two methods for data ingestion:
1. Installation of SoundStack's arm-agent
2. S3 or SFTP (pull)
The following limitations are imposed:
