A Balancer is an additional layer that will balance the traffic between multiple egresses and it will create the URL that listeners are using to tune in.

In order to generate a listen link when not using a clustered egress, a Balancer must be created. If one of the egresses goes down, the balancer will automatically move listeners to the other Egress.

Here is our step-by-step guide on how to create and set up a Balancer:

1. Login to the SoundStack console.

2. From the left-side navigation menu, click on Publishers.

3. Select the publisher of your choice.

4. Click the Create button and select Balancer.

You can now select our default domain which is “delivery.audiocdn.com” and alias which is the actual stream URL. You can use the default alias or create a custom alias that matches the regular expression.

5. The last step will be to select the egresses that you want associated with this balancer and hit Save.

Now if you are accessing the URL you should be able to listen to the stream. For example: https://delivery.audiocdn.com/pl3gd6txj2s/1

This will be the link used for mobile apps, embedded players, or just to listen to the stream.

NOTE: Once you click Save, it will take a few minutes for the Balancer to be created and begin working.

To view all the Balancers created under your organization, simply navigate to the Balancers tab on the left menu.
